Do not fail, as you go on, to draw something every day, for no matter how little it is, it will be well worth while, and it will do you a world of good."

COLOR POSTER STUDY

Last Saturday I demonstrated a color poster study for the morning and afternoon classes. The poster study is very useful because the practice helps us to learn to mix color and to translate what we are looking at to the painting surface.  The color poster requires that we translate not just color but value as well.  It should be small and again, fairly quick - although, I would not discourage you from spending some time on this exercise while you are learning about your palette.  Take as long as you need, initially.  When you do MANY of these studies you will become fast, proficient and expert.  So, practice OFTEN!
